MSc. Hasankhani, M.
Mahshid is a PhD researcher at the Design For Sustainability (DFS) section of the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering (IDE) at the Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands. Her research focuses on exploring design strategies and tools to enhance social dynamics in developing a new systematic design for future clean energy systems.
Academic Background
Mahshid completed her master degree in Urban Planning and Policy Design at Politecnico di Milano, Italy. During her master studies, she provided insights into the contextual and place-based variables influencing the emergence of innovation in the energy system. She also worked with companies and municipalities to propose design solutions for the sustainable development of city infrastructures. Prior to that, she graduated with BSc in Architectural Engineering in Iran.
Research Profile
Mahshid is part of the RELEASE-project which aims to develop feasible and responsible system architectures, business models and policy options for integrating large scale energy storage in existing and future energy systems and support the substitution of fossil fuels as raw materials in the industrial sector. In this project, she is particularly focusing on context-specific issues related to the social (including business) acceptance of large-scale energy storage projects by applying a field lab approach.
