MSc. Karlsson, K.F.
Fredrik Karlsson is a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering exploring the role of data in healthcare and how stakeholders can collaborate in decision making. Fredrik's research focuses on data-enabled shared-decision-making in healthcare. In his research he looks at how stakeholders can collaborate to make decisions for the health path of the patient and what role data and AI can have in the decision making process.
Academic Background
Fredrik's first step into the intersection between healthcare and design was at Chalmers University of Technology when he studied the products and systems used by ambulance nurses and how they affected their work. In his master's thesis he explored how to design the experience of using a smart product for emptying the bowel, together with Wellspect Healthcare. After obtaining his degree in Industrial Design Engineering from Chalmers he started to work with innovation project in the prehospital sector as a project manager at PICTA, Lindholmen Science Park.
