Track-and-trace method predicts best possible resolution in microscopy

TU Delft scientists provide insight into the limitations of super-resolution microscopy and offer a new calculation method to determine maximum resolution. The technology is important for studying processes in the living cell, discovering the origin of diseases and developing new medicines. In addition, their publication nuances major precision improvements previously claimed by fellow researchers. Their findings were published in Biophysical Journal.

Peyman Mohajerin Esfahani receives the prestigious European Control Award

Peyman Mohajerin Esfahani, an associate professor at the Delft Center for Systems and Control, receives the 2022 European Control Award (ECA). The ECA is a prestigious award to recognize outstanding contributions by a young researcher under the age of 40 in the area of systems and control. The award is sponsored by the European Control Association, and is presented during the annual European Control Conference (ECC). The awardee is also invited to give a plenary lecture during the ECC, 12-15 July 2022.

How do you install a wind turbine far out at sea when high waves and strong winds make its installation virtually impossible? With this question in mind, a team of researchers from TU Delft, in collaboration with Heerema Marine Contractors (HMC) and DOT B.V., boarded the world's largest crane vessel this week: Heerema's Sleipnir. As part of a major pioneering project, the FOX project, they are exploring floating wind turbine installation.
