About X 

The primary aim of X TU Delft (X) is to stimulate and facilitate the personal development of students and their connection with the academic community at TU Delft. This means that X is a place is a place on campus where you can develop in areas that are not always part of the academic curriculum, but invaluable none the less. X focuses on the needs of young people.

The three pillars of Products, Systems and Communication together make X's offer possible, in which some 15,000 students and staff members participate each year. Themes that underpin X’s programming are lifestyle, reflection, sports, games, arts and crafts. Thanks to the help of students (organisations), teachers and trainers, X is able to provide an attractive programme of courses, ticket hours, events and projects. In addition, students can initiate their own programming and/or activities and can make free use of facilities such as a student kitchen and student living room.

Staff members of X are characterised by their strong ambition to contribute to and participate in the personal development of people in general and students in particular. They are also committed to their own personal development and they have a strong capacity to learn.

D.S.H.C. (Delftsche Studenten Hockey Club)
D.S.H.C. is one of the three oldest hockey clubs of The Netherlands. The hockey club was founded by students from Delft in 1898 in collaboration with the KNHB (the National Dutch Hockey Federation). The 2023/2024 season therefore marks the club’s 125th anniversary! D.S.H.C. is a subdivision of the Delftsch Studenten Corps and has about 350 active members who are all students. They are divided into 11 men's teams and 7 women's teams. 

The TU Delft is the home sponsor of D.S.H.C. and the employer of all the trainers of associations. The accommodation and the trainers, as well as some other material costs, are facilitated by TU Delft.

Job description
As a head coach of the first men’s team you’ll be working in a fascinating work environment with motivated students and employees. All players of the association combine sports with their student life, where much importance is attributed to the balance between the two.

As a head coach, you’ll be training the team on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and you’ll coach them every Sunday. 

Job requirements

You have:

  • affinity with students;
  • good knowledge of and experience in field hockey (you have a trainers licence HT2 or provable experience);
  • a well-developed empathy and a great sense of involvement with the target groups of X;
  • a good understanding of the Dutch or English language.

You are:

  • a team player and are interested in other cultures;
  • enthusiastic and flexible.
