"A life without partying doesn’t seems fun to me."

When I...

...started my life as a student, I really looked forward to get to know new people. I also liked the idea of having much more time to do other stuff, next to studying. That is one of the reasons why I started working at X.

Because of the coronavirus...

...my life has really changed. At the beginning of my first year I have partied a lot. All of a sudden that all stopped. I moved to Delft the moment the coronavirus arrived and we were not allowed to go to the university anymore. This was a real bummer. I spend my days with new roommates in a house that I did not know. It was a weird period.

X has really tried its best...

...to make it possible to use the facilities of X, despite of the coronavirus. In a few weeks the courses will start and from that moment on the offer is almost the same as before COVID-19. Of course there are a lot of rules and the classes are smaller. That is why I definitely look forward to live a normal life again, also at X.

Last week...

...I had to stay in preventive quarantine, and luckily I tested negative. That week I had a lot of time for myself. Unfortunately, not in a nice way. For me it is was stressful period. Every time I sneezed I thought ‘okay now I have it…’. Your concentration level is very low and it is really lonely. My room is quite small so it is not that interesting to see the same four walls for seven days a week.

I think...

...the new normal will be social distancing. Now it feels weird to keep 1,5 meter distance but in the future that will probably be normal. I do hope there comes a vaccine. Because a life without partying doesn’t seems fun to me.

When I started my life as a student, I really looked forward to getting to know new people.
