Four ImPhys Researchers won a grant by writing a proposal for a new collaboration with a scientist from another department of Applied Sciences.

After his bachelor and Master study at TU Delft Fabian Fool started in September as a PhD. He will work on the project: Monitoring infant brain perfusion by trans-fontanel echography (MIFFY) under the supervision of Martin Verweij and Nico de Jong.

Filippo Piccardi from the university of Florence started on September 4th. He will work on the spiral array project under the supervision of Rik Vos. The exchange is for six months in total.

Andrea Traversi from the university of Florence started on September 4th. He will work on the spiral array project under the supervision of Rik Vos. The exchange is for six months in total.

On September 4th Lars Koopmans started his BEP project. His supervisor is Sjoerd Stallinga. The topic of his BEP will be the determination of the experimental point spread function from a localization microscopy dataset. This will help us to unravel the effects of optical aberrations and other model errors on the quality of the super-resolution reconstruction.

Pierre Ambrosini started on September 1st. He will work on "Image analytics in the field of prostate histology". His supervisor is Sjoerd Stallinga.

On August 1st Dong Zhang started his PhD on our Delphi project. His supervisor is Eric Verschuur.

Deadline papers: 1 Sept. 2017. The Face2Phase conference addresses imaging with phase information and covers topics such as lensless imaging, aberration retrieval, adaptive and active optics, ptychography, holography, tomography, phase retrieval and applications.

The new dataset on “Subnanometer-accuracy optical distance ruler based on fluorescence quenching by transparent conductors” is online.

Since 1987 Information Technology (IT) personnel at the faculty of Applied Sciences (TNW) have held regular meetings to share knowledge, experience and support in order to improve the use of informatics in the broadest sense within our faculty.
