Senior Researcher Award Airborne for Bruno Santos

Bruno Santos received the TRA VISIONS 2022 Senior Researcher Award Airborne earlier this month at the TRA Conference in Lisbon. Bruno’s work as the coordinator of the EC Horizon 2020 ReMap project was perhaps the major contribution to his award.

Strategic airline network planning: considering climate impact

The work from Mahdi Noorafza (ATO) and Pratik R. (ANCE) was discussed in the recent blog from the European Research project ClimOP. In their work, the two PhD candidates are investigating the potential of combining strategic network planning and optimised climate trajectories in mitigating aviation’s climate impact from both CO2 and non-CO2 effects.

The paper and demo “Agent-Based Modelling and Simulation of Airport Terminal Operations Under COVID-19-Related Restrictions” by Gregory Sanders, Sahand Mohammadi Ziabari, Adin Mekić, and Alexei Sharpanskykh was awarded IBM Best demo paper award at 19th International Conference on Practical Applications of Agents and Multi-agent Systems.
