Mind mapping serves as a widely utilized tool for recording knowledge, organizing thoughts, and guiding decision-making, offering invaluable assistance to professionals in the design field. Concurrently, video-based design analysis is a common practice, allowing designers to think critically, analyze various elements, and identify design-related problems effectively. However, engaging with video content can be a taxing endeavor for designers, as it often leads to a tedious analysis process and the potential loss of valuable information. In this project, we attempt to explore and conceptualize solutions that integrate AI with mind mapping techniques to facilitate more efficient and insightful video analysis for designers. We will delve deeply into the challenges faced by designers during video analysis, identifying specific pain points where the introduction of AI can significantly enhance the process. The exploration will include an examination of various AI technologies, such as Siamese Neuron Networks and other video information representations of extraction and analyzation, to determine their potential contribution to the generation and optimization of mind maps derived from video content. Our goal is to develop solutions that seamlessly integrate AI into the process of creating mind maps from videos. These AI-augmented solutions aim to assist designers by automatically identifying and organizing crucial information from video content, making the analysis process not only more efficient but also more insightful. Through cycles of conceptualization, testing, and refinement with mind mapping, we aim to ensure that these solutions are viable, effective, and tailored to meet the unique needs and challenges faced by designers in their video analysis tasks. Ultimately, this project contributes to the ongoing discourse on the integration of AI within design practices. By exploring and validating AI-augmented solutions for mind mapping in video-based design analysis, this initiative offers vital insights and prototypes that could inform and inspire the development of future tools and technologies in the field. These solutions not only promise to enhance the efficiency and creativity of design professionals but also open avenues for innovative and informed design processes and outcomes.
