Dr. Cankurtaran, P.

Pinar Cankurtaran is Assistant Professor of Brand Strategy at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering. Her current research focuses on brand authenticity, brand discourses and craft innovation. Her work has been published in the Journal of Product Innovation Management, Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of Macromarketing and Research in the Sociology of Organisations. She has contributed cases to the book Brand Management: Co-creating Meaningful Brands (2nd Edition) and a chapter to the Routledge Companion to Corporate Branding.

Academic Background

Pinar Cankurtaran received the BSc degree in Business Administration from Bilkent University in Turkey, and the MSc degrees in International Development and Management Research from the University of Bath and the University of Oxford, respectively, in the United Kingdom. She received the MPhil in Business Research and the PhD in Marketing Management from the Rotterdam School of Management (RSM) at Erasmus University in The Netherlands.
