Kitesurfing is a water sport and is a variant of windsurfing. As with wind surfing, the surfer stands on a board, but uses a kite instead of a sail. Kitesurfers harness the power of the wind to jump high into the air and across long distances. If the wind is good, you can reach extremely high speeds of up to 80km/h! Experienced kitesurfers perform all kinds of stunts, including handle passes, kite loops, grabs and board-off tricks.

Board sports association DROP Delft organizes various kitesurfing activities, such as clinics, excursions and lessons, in collaboration with X. You can only participate in the kitesurfing activities as a member of the association.

DROP has a lot of enthusiastic members who kitesurf at all levels, from beginners to advanced. This means that it’s always easy to find someone at your level, or someone who can teach you a lot.

There are no fixed training times, but if the weather is good you’ll always be able to find someone at your level to go kitesurfing with. Other kite-based activities are also organised regularly, such as various types of clinics, snowkiting trips and a summer trip.
