The Spartan Workout is a type of boot camp designed to increase body strength. Boot camp training was inspired by military training, which focuses on strength, stamina and team work. Furthermore, the lessons will also improve your coordination.

Spartan Workout is held outdoors whenever possible. During the lesson you work on your strength and stamina through exercises using your own body weight and other training devices, which may include tree trunks, car tyres and pull-up bars. The different individual and group exercises are designed to push your entire body to the limit. At the same time, you will build up your discipline, perseverance and confidence. If you attend the lessons regularly, you’ll notice an improvement in your strength, speed and explosive power.

Mascha Frans

Mascha started doing Spartan Workout in 2018, and became a student trainer in 2019. When Bart van de Laar stopped as a trainer at X in September 2021, she took over his classes.

The goal of the workouts Mascha designs is for the participants to be mentally and physically drained at the end of it. Also, she really tries to focus on doing as many well-performed exercises as one physically can do, even if that means doing an “easier” progression. This creates an accessible environment to start working out, with big progress possible if done consistently.

Ravi Budhrani

Ravi has been training Spartan Workout for over three years now, as a participant and as an instructor. He learned a lot from previous instructors and is so-called his “own guinea pig” when trying out new routines before using them in his classes.

In his workouts, Ravi likes to lead by example. Spartan workouts embody his style of cooperative workouts, where everyone is trying to push each other to the next level!

Practical Information

Wear outdoor clothing (weather appropriate) and outdoor sports shoes. Remember to bring a bottle of water.

The training takes place outside unless the instructor notes otherwise. On Tuesdays, we gather at the pull-up bars in the far right corner of the sports grounds. On Thursdays, we gather outside in front of the main entrance of X. Should the location change, the hosts at the Meeting Point will be informed about this.
