E-cars in Spanish

Recent collaboration with Argentinian university on electric mobility online program

Several TU Delft lecturers are front-runners in open and online education. Supported by the Extension School, they bring skills and knowledge to all corners of the world. Their online courses and short learning programs allow lifelong learners and professionals to keep up to date in fields of interest and continue to contribute to a more sustainable society over their careers. But as the request for programs on in-demand subject areas and skills is growing, so is the need for these to be accessible even more widely and not only in the English language.

In response to this, the online program on electric cars is now available in Spanish on our edX partner platform. This much-desired development follows the huge success of another of our programs also offered in Spanish: Análisis y Visualización de Datos con Excel. This has so far successfully attracted hundreds of participants from Latin-America, with Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Argentina - and Spain in Europe, as the top five countries represented.

Both offers are the result of our collaboration with the Argentinian university Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires (ITBA). While the partner university is responsible for the translation of the program into Spanish and for its delivery, TU Delft continues to guard the program content, oversees the quality of the translation and supports ITBA in offering a great learning experience, by training its team in course creation and e-moderation.

Similar initiatives to increase the global reach and impact of TU Delft online education have already resulted in courses such our Solar Energy MOOC being translated and offered in Arabic on the Edraak platform and in Mandarin on XuetangX.
