DEAN virtual alumni event France
“If getting together in-person isn’t possible, let’s meet virtually!"
With that thought we started the 1st virtual DEAN* tour in 2020 after the pandemic closed all borders. Alumni were invited to join these online interactive events that included brief updates from the universities, followed by short talks by alumni from one of the four Dutch TU’s. Per tradition, all gatherings concluded with virtual 'drinks' with fellow alumni.
Nadine Bongaerts
On April 30, we had the DEAN Virtual Event France with a keynote by TU Delft alumna Dr. Ir. Nadine Bongaerts. She is a synthetic biologist who bridges the world of science with business & society. Nadine currently works as post-doctoral researcher on the development of a novel drug screening method to accelerate the discovery of antibiotics against tuberculosis at INSERM in Paris. During her online talk Nadine shared how synthetic biology is the next ‘industrial revolution’ and provided details about her next job for a start-up developing synthetic foie gras!
