Biografie

Ruochen Guo was born in Shandong Province, China, in 1994. He received his M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Shandong University, China, in 2018. Then, he pursued his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering at Xi'an Jiaotong University. From 2021 to 2022, he was a joint Ph.D. student at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in the area of Applied Physics in Electrotechnology. At KTH, he built creatively a macro discharge model in liquid for voltage prediction, and the model can conduct the 3D branching simulation based on liquid-gas phase change. He defended his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Xi'an Jiaotong University in November 2022. He has been engaged in work in the high voltage field since his master’s thesis and he has published more than 20 research journal papers and joined 5 research projects during his master and Ph.D. In 2021, he got the National Scholarship which is the highest student award in China. He is also a reviewer of two journals (IEEE TDEI and IET HV) and one conference (HVDC). His research interest is Electric Aircraft, Oil-paper Insulation, Gas/Liquid Discharge, and New Types of Test methods for Electrical Equipment. Currently, Dr. Guo is a researcher at Delft University of Technology, in High Voltage Technology Group, Electrical Sustainable Energy Department.
