Ugur’s research areas are cyber security data analytics and application of machine learning over network security problems. He recently studied on empirical analysis of cybercrime products and services in the underground markets and hacking forums. Previously, he also applied various artificial intelligence algorithms for distributed network anomaly detection of pre-DDoS attacks.
Ugur Akyazi is a ‘Data Science of Cyber Security’ researcher and Computer Science academician with engineering, managing and teaching/research experience in academia and industry. He holds a BSc. in computer engineering, two MSc.’s one in systems engineering and the other in international security strategy management and leadership. He has a PhD. in cyber security systems optimized with nature inspired evolutionary algorithms, with publications in internationally recognized journal and conferences. Throughout his career he has worked in a number of medium to enterprise level projects, and administered systems and networks, including in-depth security aspects at national and international institutions. Furthermore he had nine years of academic work experience as a faculty member at a Computer Engineering Department in Turkey.
