Op woensdag 24 april organiseerde de TU Delft een bijeenkomst voor directeur-generaal Rafael Grossi van het Internationaal Atoomenergie Agentschap (IAEA), studenten en andere geïnteresseerden in de nucleaire sector.

Van maandag 15 tot en met donderdag 18 april 2024 is de follow-up Integrated Safety Assessment of Research Reactors (INSARR) missie uitgevoerd bij TU Delft Reactor Institute.

The head of the U.N. atomic watchdog agency, Rafael Grossi, visits TU Delft on Wednesday 24 April. His upcoming visit to the TU Delft aims to stimulate various organisations and members of the nuclear industry to address the gender disparity of women in the nuclear sector. And with his visit he specifically wants to inspire students to work in the nuclear industry. Grossi calls on TU Delft because with its TU Delft Reactor Institute and broad nuclear knowledge in health, energy and materials, it is a major nuclear center of excellence in the Netherlands.

Delftse onderzoekers ontwikkelen batterijen die sneller kunnen opladen, stabielere opslag bieden en van duurzame materialen worden gemaakt die goed beschikbaar zijn. Hiermee bieden ze een goedkoper alternatief voor lithium-ion batterijen die bestaan uit zeldzame materialen en een hoge CO2 footprint hebben.

TU Delft leads HEAT4ENERGY, a European consortium, dedicated to develop thermomagnetic devices and novel materials to harvest heat from data centres, food, pulp and paper industries and convert this waste heat to electricity. This project ticks all the boxes: energy transition, decarbonising, low and high power devices for conversion of waste heat to electricity, energy storage, finding alternatives for critical raw materials, developing new materials and most important of all: training of a next generation of European experts.

De onderzoeksreactor van TU Delft Reactor Institute van de faculteit Technische Natuurwetenschappen heeft een aantal jaar geleden een nieuwe koepelbeplating aan de buitenkant laten plaatsen.
