May 24, lustrum event on sustainable transport
May 24 the H2 Platform, together with the e-Refinery and the faculties of AE and 3mE organized the lustrum event on sustainable aviation and shipping. Joint presentations were given by companies from/for the aviation and shipping sector: Karel Bockstael (KLM) & Theo Klimp (Wagenborg), Glenn Llewellyn (Airbus) & Erik-Jan Boonen (Damen), Nicolas JEULAND (Safran) & Sebastiaan Bleuanus (Wärtsilä) and Oskar Meijerink (SkyNRG) & Jacky de Letter (Yara).
Despite the obvious differences between shipping and aviation, similar ambitions and challenges for realizing sustainable transport. Strong will to further strengthen collaboration to speed up the energy transition, but need for a.o. human capital, upscaling and regulation.
