Nieuws - 23 november 2023

In May 2023, Rector Tim van der Hagen was in Brazil as a member of the economic delegation with Prime Minister Mark Rutte that explored new opportunities and strengthen Brazilian-Dutch cooperation. The agenda included a meeting with President Lula da Silva, and with the University of Sao Paulo a Letter of Intent on behalf of 4TU was signed, developing student exchange between Brazil and the Netherlands.

Tim van der Hagen also visited Embraer, which is a partner of TU Delft Aerospace Engineering faculty in the ‘Nationaal Groeifonds’ Aerospace in Transition programme. The delegation further explored collaboration with the Port of Pecém in the field of hydrogen production to support the energy transition. The TU Delft has a strong interest in the development of a hydrogen ecosystem in The Netherlands and is a partner in the ‘Nationaal Groeifonds’ Groenvermogen programme.

The mission was an excellent opportunity to increase the visibility of TU Delft with key universities, students, government and important industries in Brazil. We have a strong collaboration with Brazil and are looking forward to strengthening the collaboration in the coming years.
