Dr. Kubilay Atasu's Appointment as Associate Professor

Dr. Kubilay Atasu will be joining the Distributed Systems Section as an associate professor in January 2024 to build a new research group focusing on scalable graph analytics.

Dr. Atasu is a senior member of IEEE and has been a member of research staff at IBM Research – Zurich since 2008. At IBM Research, Kubilay has been leading the development of high-speed text analytics and graph machine learning solutions. While with IBM, he also taught postgraduate courses at the University of Tübingen and at the Sabanci University, Istanbul. Kubilay served in the program committees of more than 50 scientific conferences and co-chaired two IEEE conferences. He is the principal investigator of a Swiss National Science Foundation (SNF) project aimed at building scalable graph ML solutions for financial crime analysis.
