Electric vehicles (EVs) are transforming the way we move, and the key to this trans-formation lies in the EV charging landscape. This lecture offers a comprehensive exploration of the electric mobility world, with a primary focus on the charging station aspect and its immense opportunities for hardware suppliers. The main objective is to introduce the audience to the captivating realm of electric transportation and infrastructure. Together we will explore the various types of electric vehicles and we will examine AC (Alternating Current) and DC (Direct Current) chargers, their functionalities, and their roles in powering the EV revolution. Gain insight into the intricacies of the EV charging process, from plugging in to monitoring and managing charging sessions. Explore the dynamic landscape of the EV charging market, identifying key segments, and understanding the trends shaping its growth. As the global imperative to reduce emissions grows, the significance of this lecture cannot be overstated. Short bio of the presenter:

Eirini, born and raised in Thessaloniki, earned her first Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Aristotle University in Greece. Continuing her studies, she earned her second Master’s degree in Energy and Products from IFP School, the École Nationale Supérieure du Pétrole et des Moteurs in Paris. 

Eirini moved from France to the Netherlands five years ago, where she started working in the electric mobility sector. She was able to advance from the roles of a charge-point operator to the side of a hardware supplier and an end-to-end mobility provider. The past two years, Eirini has focused on energy management solutions and global framework agreements, from the scope of project management.

Eirini is also the External Affairs core team member of IDEA employee resource group, cultivating an open culture in the workplace. She is dedicated to bringing more women in STEM. Eirini loves traveling and playing volleyball. She also enjoys a good mystery book or doing yoga.
