An immersive experience into Japan’s rich culture, heritage and craftsmanship! There’s so much to learn – from crafts like Maki-e or Kintsugi, perfect matcha tea and latte making, nuances of Umami tasting, to mastering the timeless practice of Bonsai.

Join us for a captivating journey through Japanese culture!  You can attend various workshops on traditional arts and crafts.

  • Discover the ancient art of Maki-e and Kintsugi; painting intricate patterns on lacquerware and repairing broken ceramics with gold. Guided by artist Yuki Tessler.
  • Discover the benefits of a meticulously brewed earthy matcha tea and creamy lattes. Guided by connoisseur Akira Hayashi.
  • Experience the rich depth of Umami tasting, unraveling the secrets of this elusive fifth taste. Guided by Matsushita Kumi from Umami Innovation.

Bonsai van het Westen
Are you a fan of Japanese Culture? This same weekend (June 8 & 9) the Bonsai van het Westen festival takes place. Held in the Botanical Garden of TU Delft this festival hosts an exquisite Bonsai exhibition, crafts market, lectures and Bonsai shaping workshops.
