Master’s Thesis Project

During the thesis project, also known as Master's end project or thesis work, (Course Code CH3930) students demonstrate their creativity and ability to work independently on a subject they have chosen in co-operation with their supervisor. The student is assessed on their academic performance (formulation of research question, critical thinking, knowledge of the subject, safety) and "soft" skills (communication, working in a team)

In principle, the thesis project has to be undertaken in one of the research groups of the Department of Chemical Engineering at TU Delft and must be pre-approved by the Programme Coordinator.

**Note that students have the option to undertake an extended thesis project (MEP Ext) as part of their Professional & Societal Orientation within the Research & Development or Science & Technology personalisations. In this case a more in depth thesis project is conducted, with an allotted 42 EC in total (course code CH3942). This decision needs to be made before the commencement of the thesis project in coordination with the research supervisor.
