Design for Human Interaction
This theme combines established design domains with modern notions of wellbeing. It emphasises understanding human needs in context and creating user-friendly designs that deliver meaningful experiences. You will explore micro- and meso-level interactions, connecting people with their environment through physical, perceptual, cognitive, and social means. You will learn to relate human needs to design characteristics and develop skills to conceptualise new interactions. This theme puts an emphasis on testing and evaluating effects on people to ensure impact in practice.

5 EC, Spring Semester - Q3
This course offers foundational knowledge needed to understand how to design for desired impact on wellbeing, including physical, mental, and social experiences.

5 EC, Spring Semester - Q4
This course introduces students to relevant methods and tools to assess/evaluate human factors for design and impact of design in different stages of development. It focuses on individual wellbeing and overall system performance. -
5 EC, Fall Semester - Q2
This course teaches the ways designers can support people in achieving various life goals with insights from human factors, ergonomics, behavioural economics, and psychology. -
10 EC, Spring Semester - Q3 & Q4
In this design studio, students explore how emerging technologies can amplify human perceptual abilities and consider their impact on the environment. Through conceptualisation, high-fidelity prototyping and designing in real, augmented, and virtual environments, students will expand our natural reality and enhance multisensory experiences.
