Cynthia Liem Receives Women in AI Netherlands Diversity Leader Award

News - 13 February 2024 - Communication EWI

Cynthia Liem, associate professor of the Intelligent Systems department, has been recognised with the 2024 Women in AI Netherlands Diversity Leader Award. This highlights her contributions to enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusivity within the artificial intelligence (AI) sector.

The award acknowledges those who have worked towards making AI more inclusive, particularly for minority, underrepresented, and marginalised groups. Cynthia has been actively involved in bridging the gap between AI and these communities, expanding her role beyond academia to engage with public and policy-making spheres.

Cynthia was not the only woman from EEMCS present at the gala. In fact, Odette Scharenborg, also associate professor from department, was shortlisted for the AI Researcher award. This underscores the faculty's involvement in pioneering research and advocacy for diversity in technology.

TU Delft expresses its congratulations to Cynthia Liem for her award and looks forward to her future contributions to making AI a more inclusive field.
