Martina Cuschieri

Martina graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical, Maritime and Materials Engineering, MSc Biomedical Engineering in 2012. After her graduation, she became a researcher at the department of Biomedical Engineering in Delft, followed by work experience in the oil & gas industry and currently in the sustainable energy industry.

“Currently I am working for AquaBattery. It is AquaBattery’s mission  to revolutionise the energy storage market, cutting energy bills and fostering the development of renewable energy technologies. This mission spoke to me immediately as it gives me a sense of purpose and knowing that I am doing something good for the world”

Martina wants to improve her communication and coaching skills for her personal development. “Communication is a skill that is unfortunately not being given much attention in technical universities, but I believe this is fundamental for your personal career development”. She therefore plans to use the Marina van Damme Grant to  follow a course in coaching at the University of Cambridge and two communication courses at Rotterdam School of Management Erasmus University.
