In 2021, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science launched the National Education Program (NPO) to address academic, social and mental wellbeing challenges of students. It is especially important that students feel at home at our university and on campus. The NPO fund is intended for associations who want to stimulate this sense of community and bring as many students together as possible.

The NPO budget can be used to organize events that connect students, preferably on campus. It can be used by study and student associations, but also by individual students who have ideas for events that increase the well-being and connection of the student community at TU Delft. The NPO Fund cannot be used to finance alcoholic drinks.
In the quarterly overviews, you will find a number of successful examples of events that were organized with the help of the NPO budget in previous years. View them here!
What type of activities or events can be financed with the NPO Fund? Here are some examples:Study evenings
Many study associations successfully organize study evenings during exam periods. Students then come together on campus to study and eat together. These events have increased the motivation of students.Events on campus
Various events used the campus as a location. Some associations organized film evenings in the Aula or other auditoriums on campus. Others organized engineering competitions or career events in Pulse or Echo. Finally, many associations organized cultural events on campus, where they shared their culture with fellow students.Co-creation events
How can you reach as many students as possible? By joining forces with other associations! Organizing events together gives you a larger network and a larger audience. For example, you can organize study sessions, social events or cultural gatherings. TU Delft has a wide range of study, student, international, cultural or sports associations and collaborations open the door to bigger and better events. Everything is possible when you work together.Wellbeing
Wellbeing is a big topic among students that can be approached from different angles. Some examples are lectures on wellbeing and mental health, social gatherings to combat loneliness or workshops. -
If you have an event idea that you would like to finance through the NPO budget, please reach out to your study association or student organization to support you in your application. This budget is meant for associations, so you have better chances to fund your event if a study/student organization applies for you.
See the associations list on the home page to analyse your options.

Are you inspired by the opportunity and freedom of the NPO Fund? Then you can apply using the form on the right. Make sure to add as many details as possible, so we can properly evaluate your idea. The applications will be reviewed every 2 weeks by the committee and a response or request for further information will be provided.
The decision will be made based on the following points:
- Topic of the project
- How important is the topic for the target group?
- How unique is the project?
- Is this project a stand-alone initiative, or does the project have a relationship with other events?
- Impact: How inclusive and diverse is the target group?

The NPO Fund is a limited financial resource. Due to its popularity in the academic year 2023-2024, the budget available has significantly reduced. This mean that the approval committee will only be considering smaller applications for as long as the funds are there. Once the complete fund has been spent, the NPO Fund will be retired and applications will no longer be accepted.
