"By keeping a routine, I can keep myself productive. Exercise definitely helps me to mentally cope with the current situation!"

Since my first year...

...as a student I visit X regularly. X was then still known as Sports and Culture, with the building still being renewed. I started with solely following group-lessons, yet soon I discovered the fitness. Since the fitness opens at 7AM, I started training more consistently.

I was relieved...

...when it was possible to train in the fitness again after the lockdown. There are a lot of measurements at X, and unfortunately the fitness shifts are very popular. Also, the timeslot of 1 hour is sometimes too short for a full workout. Yet, I am pleased that it is possible to train and it is nice to see familiar faces again during the early morning fitness shift.

Last year...

...I started as a board member of the Sport- en Cultuur Verenigingen Raad (SCVR). The board of the SCVR consists of six students. The SCVR promotes and monitors the contact and cooperation between X TU Delft and all sports and culture associations connected to X.

Practicing a board year...

...during COVID-19 certainly is a challenge. It already was challenging because we were the first SCVR board. But also, as well as many others, we needed to adjust our workflow due to COVID-19. Nevertheless, I learned a lot of skills regarding communication during the year. I saw the opportunities for the SCVR, and therefore I decided to continue being a board member for this year. Although everything is online, I still have the feeling of being part of a board, have great and eager board members, and feel less isolated at home. Besides monitoring the contact between X and the associations our aim for this year is to create more awareness of our board amongst all students attending X regularly.

Studying at home...

...and social distancing has given me the opportunity to visit the fitness regularly since I do not have to travel for my internship. By keeping a routine, I can keep myself productive. Exercise definitely helps me to mentally cope with the current situation!
