On 17 October 2023 the International Symposium and Workshop on “Cooperation for the Indonesia Energy Transition” will take place at the TU Delft campus.

On 17 October 2023 the International Symposium and Workshop on  “Cooperation for the Indonesia Energy Transition” will take place at the TU Delft campus, as part of the project “Regional Development Planning and Ideal Lifestyle of Future Indonesia - By Utilizing Advance Green Energy Technology And Trans/Inter-disciplinary Approaches”, which is a collaborative project between IT Bandung and TU Delft, led by prof Kornelis Blok (Department of Systems Engineering and Services, Faculty of Technology, Policy, Management, TU Delft) and prof Harkunti Pertiwi Rahayu (School of Architecture, Planning, and Policy Development, IT Bandung), under the Merian Fund 2019 call by NWO and RISTEK BRIN.

Programme

>The Symposium is in the morning 9-13.00 hr and is a hybrid public event open to everyone interested in the topic “Cooperation for the Indonesia Energy Transition”. It consists of key notes and panel discussions with prominent scientists, policy makers and decision makers.

The aim

  1. To provide an overview of results in the collaborative project, as well as the state of affairs and challenges in Indonesia with regard to the energy transition and nett zero 2060 ambitions;
  2. To discuss cooperation and knowledge needs among key actors in Indonesia,
  3. To define steps and proposals to develop cooperation between leading Dutch and Indonesian knowledge organisations as well as other key actors working on the energy transition and climate action in Indonesia, and
  4. To provide input and elaboration to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Ministry of Energy & Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia and the Ministry of Economic Affairs & Climate Policy of The Netherlands on Cooperation in the Field of the Energy Transition to Combat Climate Change. The aim of the MOU is “to enhance collaborative arrangements for sharing knowledge, experience, technical assistance and technologies to deal with the challenges coming from the energy transition to fight climate change”.
