MA. Burg, V. van der
Vera van der Burg is a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering, with a focus on artificial intelligence and how it can operate in the world of design and the arts.
Academic Background
With a Bachelor in Neuroscience and a Master in Fine Art & Design, I find myself at the intersection of design, art and theoretical research in which I aim to maintain an interdisciplinary research attitude.
Currently, I am a doctoral candidate at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering as part of the Designing Intelligence Lab. My research focuses on how intelligent systems and designers can creatively work together over extended periods of time. By identifying parts of the design process that are amenable for AI-input, the aim is to develop new design methods combined in an AI-toolkit.
Furthermore, my personal interest lies in the collaboration between designers, artists and intelligent systems in creative settings.
