Delft University Fund continues successful campaign: Tech for Impact

News - 18 April 2024

Can molten salts provide a new generation of safe and sustainable nuclear power? Can we treat heart problems better with a digital twin? Will bacteria succeed in removing arsenic from groundwater? Will we be climate neutral by 2050 by capturing CO2 from the atmosphere? These questions are at the heart of the Tech for Impact 2024 campaign.

Day in and day out, scientists and students at TU Delft work on projects that make our world a little bit better. Delft University Fund raises awareness and funds for this important work amongst alumni. After a very successful campaign in 2023, the fund follows up on ‘Tech for Impact’.

Four projects selected

Delft University Fund will highlight the work of researchers Anna Smith, Mathias Peirlinck, Roos Goedhart and David Vermaas this year. They are four top researchers who are not only driven by their scientific motivation, but also have the distinct goal of making a positive contribution to the world through their work and expertise.

Prof.dr.ir. Tim van der Hagen about this campaign: “As Rector Magnificus of TU Delft, I see the importance of support from alumni and external relations every day. It also contributes to our ambitions as a university to combine excellent scientific research with impact for a better society. I wholeheartedly support this campaign and hope you will join us.”

De donor chooses

Like last year, the donor has an option to choose which project his or her donation goes to. The four projects are presented on www.tudelft.nl/techforimpact where a choice can be made directly.
