Summer School 2023: programme

Nieuws - 08 juni 2023 - Circular Built Environment Hub

The Circular Built Environment Hub of the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment at TU Delft will host the second Summer School on Circularity in the Built Environment from 5 to 7 July 2023. The summer school focuses on how circularity can help inform and develop desirable futures further inquiring on the actions required to scale up and accelerate the transition. Students, PhD researchers and professionals are invited to participate.

Programme

During the first day we will visit three specific locations in Rotterdam, and meet with people who will share their experiences and their perspectives of the transition to a circular built environment. Based on their input, and the “Scales to aspects model” developed by the Circular Built Environment Hub as a way of understanding the relation of circularity to the built environment, we will work together to identify how “circuits of value” can help us develop and prioritize our criteria for enabling circularity informed decisions.

The morning programme of the second and third day includes a series of lectures by TU Delft professors and researchers as well as several selected guests. The lectures will be followed by group discussions. In the afternoon, participants will work in groups for a specific assignment. This year, we will work on creating circular futures for the TU Delft Campus together with the Campus Real Estate & Facility Management department.

Furthermore, on Thursday evening 6 July, the Circular Built Environment Hub is organising a public debate open to institutions, organisations and individuals alike. The aim is to initiate an open dialogue for envisioning circular futures and co-creating the values together with society partners. Participants of the summer school are invited to attend and actively contribute to the debate.
