Standard facilities at TU Delft
Do you have a disability which holds you back in your study? Through Horizon TU Delft offers students some standard facilities to support them in their studies, such as extra exam time (10 min/hour) or read-aloud support. The Career & Counselling Services can recommend specific workshops in the area of personal development or study skills.
Customized facilities at TPM
There may be times during your degree programme that the standard facilities no longer meet your needs and you require customized solutions to match your specific situation. These may be intended to help you with your educational programme or to participate in an assessment.
- Customized facilities to take courses: You can make an appointment with your academic counsellor to discuss what specific facilities are appropriate and necessary.
- Customized facilities to take exams: In exceptional circumstances, the Board of Examiners can grant a student with a disability the option to take a customized exam. This may include an individually organized form or length of time of the exam or practical work, or the use of practical aids, all within the facilities available at the Faculty.
- Describe your request and indicate for which provision(s) you wish to be considered. Also indicate how the requested facility/facilities will help you with your studies in view of your situation.
- Gather your supporting documents related to your situation (for example, a medical or psychological statement).
- If you need support in drawing up your request, you can contact the academic counselor.
- Send your request to the Board of Examiners (boardofexaminers-TPM@tudelft.nl).
- For reasons of confidentiality, you should send the supporting documents separately to the academic counselor and also state this in your request to the Board of Examiners.
- The Board of Examiners will then inform the academic counselor whether the supporting documents have been received. If so, the study advisor will confirm this.
Please make sure to apply on time.
Students are eligible for any customized facilities to take part in an exam:
- When personal circumstances play a role or when the standard facilities insufficiently support the student in his/her study
- When the customized facilities do not change the quality or difficulty of the exam
- When the request is supported by the academic counsellor and a medical and/or psychological declaration. The student hands in the medical and/or psychological declaration to the academic counsellor who will treat it confidentially.
