On 13 April, Alice Bucknell will give the lecture 'Future Fiction Engine'.

Alice Bucknell is a North American artist and writer based in London. With a background in anthropology and architecture, she works primarily through game engines and speculative fiction strategies to explore interconnections of architecture, ecology, outer space, magic, and non-human and machine intelligence. In 2021, she established New Mystics, a collaborative platform for exploring the intersection of magic and technology, featuring texts co-written with the Language AI GPT-3. She has exhibited her video work internationally, recently including the 17th Venice Architecture Biennale, The Museum of Modern Art in Fort Worth, Kunsthalle Wien, Ars Electronica, Bloomberg New Contemporaries, König Galerie, and Serpentine Galleries. Her writing on art and architecture appears regularly in publications, including Flash Art, Frieze, Harvard Design Magazine, and Mousse. She is currently an Associate Lecturer in MA Narrative Environments at Central Saint Martins in London and often delivers talks at international institutions, museums, and universities, including the V&A in London, Fabrica in Italy, and SCI-Arc in LA.

The Berlage Keynotes is an ongoing lecture series featuring internationally prominent architects, designers, and thinkers who are at the forefront of design discourse and innovation. A selection of speakers working from different disciplinary perspectives and in different geographic, cultural, and political contexts present how their work engages with contemporary issues and debates. This spring semester, speakers include Guy Nordenson, Office Winhov, Dyvik Kahlen Architects, Alice Bucknell, Studio MNM, Luis Fernandez-Galliano, and Adamo-Faiden Architects.
