Aarhus School of Architecture is an independent institution under the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science. The school offers an academic education centred around three approaches to architecture: an artistic, a scientific, and a practice-based. The school is rooted in a Scandinavian architectural tradition, and the work is based on the vision "Engaging Through Architecture". The school strives to train versatile architects who can help develop tomorrow’s physical environment. Teaching at the school is facilitated through students’ design projects. All projects receive individual supervision, and the school stresses the importance of close dialogue between teachers and students. Students are taught to master space, form, and composition and they acquire a thorough understanding of materiality.
Students benefit from first-class workshop facilities comprising a wide range of fabrication tools. Exchange students follow a fixed programme of 30 EC. Students will be informed about the content of the different fixed programmes when applying, so they can make their choice.
