By 2050 is an increasing pressure to accommodate new housing projects due to population growth and the necessity of denser, multi-functional city areas. The harbour area will no longer be able to afford ineffective use of space and future residents will need to adapt to a new lifestyle determined by busy and dynamic industrial infrastructure.Our vision for 2050 M4H is shaped on movement. By embracing the industrial and distribution-based identity of the area and reshaping it in a way to benefit not only the harbour distribution, but also the future residents of M4H. A place where the harbour storage and distribution can coexist with the people living in the same area and create new opportunities for each other. This is possible through creating a place of movement, a dynamic ever changing landscape, turning the problem of movement into a strength that creates a vibrant atmosphere. While containers need space and a efficient logistic system, people need a safe and attracting place to live. Through sharing common ground they can meet each others necessities in a symbiotic relationship.
