Biodiversity Incubator

The project for the “biodiversity incubator” focuses on the cycles of nature and natural resources within a highly urbanised post-industrial environment. The program of intends to prevent the last natural riverfront from being taken over by the intensive urbanization and offers an alternative public institution on this volatile ground that also intersects with the flood prevention infrastructure of the city. The project extends the “nature-as-found” on the site and combines it with the urban ecology. Instead of a continuously fortified flood prevention line, the project proposes a living, adaptable amphibious ground on which various public, institutional, and educational programs can blend.
