Scripting a privacy zoning

This concerns a research in cooperation with architectural office Krill, Rotterdam as a follow-up in the PhD research of Machiel van Dorst (2005). The goal of the research is to get to design guidelines on complex residential building to guarantee the control over social interaction for every resident and visitor of the building. The research will include the direct living environment of residential buildings. A second goal is to develop a method to analyze these buildings (scripting). The research consists of observations, interviews and a survey in Rotterdam and Delft. The build environment will be deconstructed in zones of privacy or legible territorial zones. A set of zones is a domain. For now recognize the private domain, a hybride domain, a collective domain, a parochial domain and the public domain. All domains are recognizable spatially (like borders) but also in the mix of users groups (inhabitants, visitors and people passing-by).
