Delft AI Lab PhDs strengthening AI collaboration connections abroad

At the end of 2022, the first call for the new North America Travel Grant for AI PhD candidates was opened. The Delft University Fund has made this new travel grant possible thanks to a donation from alumnus Felix Herrmann. Now, the first three grants have been awarded to Mubariz Zaffar (3DUU Lab), Mirko Baglioni (AI*MAN Lab), and Yiru Jiao (CityAI Lab).

Two winners receive Marina van Damme Grant 2023

On Thursday 11 May, Delft University Fund organised the 2023 Marina van Damme Grant Award Ceremony. Three female Delft alumni stood the chance to win the coveted grant of €9,000. After three impressive pitches and a short jury meeting, Prof. Marina van Geenhuizen, chair of the jury, announced that it was a "roaring" 20th edition with a surprising result: both Mei Ling Tan and Oleksandra Ivashchenko were declared winners of the Marina van Damme Grant 2023.

Excellence Fund awarded to Healthcare Systems Professor John Clarkson

Delft University Fund has awarded an Excellence Fund to Professor John P.J. Clarkson to kick-start his research in Delft. Professor Clarkson, a full professor at the University of Cambridge, was appointed as a professor of Healthcare Systems at TU Delft’s Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering during the pandemic.

Saskia van Heumen: TU Delft Best Graduate 2022

Today, at the TU Delft Best Graduate Award Ceremony 2022, eight recently graduated engineers presented their research and results of their excellent master thesis. Ir. Saskia van Heumen, graduate of the Faculty of Mechanical, Maritime and Materials Engineering (3mE), received the prestigious title TU Delft Best Graduate 2022. For her graduation research, Saskia developed a method to accurately image lymphatic vessels in patients.
