Because of my board position at Christiaan Huygens I see a different side of the association. I think it’s great to work fulltime with the other 6 board members for the students of Mathematics & Computer science

Willemijn van Varik is a 4th year student in Applied Mathematics and Applied Physics. She has chosen to devote one year completely to W.I.S.V. Christiaan Huygens (CH), the study association for students of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science at TU Delft, in the capacity of chairman.

Before she picked up the board position she joined the StudieVerenigingenRaad for one year. When the CH Board of 2016/2017, asked her to join the team, she had no doubts. She likes the diversity: "I am focussing on the topics social, career and education. I have a lot of contact with companies, so I can delve myself into the possibilities for after my studies. And in addition, I supervise committees and together we organize cool things."

Hackathon

"For example, we are now preparing a Hackathon on 28 and 29 April, at Sport & Cultuur. There are 5 companies with a dataset. And 100 enthusiastic students will dive into the datasets for 24 hours. They are going to work in groups and see if they can build a tool."

"Because of my board position at Christiaan Huygens I see a different side of the association. I think it’s great to work fulltime with the other 6 board members for the students of Mathematics & Computer Science. Do you want to know more about the association? Everyone is welcome for a cup of coffee in the CH room on the ground floor of Building 36. For feedback on education you can also come to us!"
