Ir. Man, W.Y.
Wing Yan Man is Program Coordinator Artificial Intelligence at the Industrial Design Engineering Faculty of Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. Artificial Intelligence opens a bucket of opportunities and challenges in various domains, industries and in our personal daily lives. How do we optimize our systems and processes? How do we incorporate human touch in our designs?
Designing for the future starts with asking the right questions. At the IDE faculty, we feel responsible to provide a space where we can challenge the status quo of our current ways of working with people, technology and in organisations. As Program Coordinator she aims to initiate research, projects and solutions with A.I. that significantly improve society. Creating this space to ask the bigger questions, doing outreach and building partnerships are her main focus.
Furthermore, her interest in improving education has made her found her own school to teach the skills we did not learn at school. At 3310 - School for Millennials (www.3310.school), teaching topics such as mental health, finding purpose, diversity & inclusion and now A.I., she hopes to prepare current generations for the future to come.
If you want to know more about her, don't be afraid to reach out. She'll be happy to meet you to hear your ideas, connect you to the right person or just to say hello!
Academic Background
She holds her Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering & Management and Master's degree in Water Engineering & Management. Her BSc. thesis in Intelligent Transport Systems for sustainable driving behavior triggered her interest in human centered design, while her MSc. thesis on Coastal Flood Management appealed to her sense of tackling greater societal problems.
