2024-06-11 | "Build a roadmap for ferries & self driving cars" OR "Build the autonomous ferry" OR "Design new interactions with our robots", Future Mobility Network

We are on the lookout for an entrepreneurial and creative innovator to envision the mobility of the future. Are you ready to change the way people and goodsare transported in the urban environment? Become a forefront runner in the mobility transition.

2024-06-03 | Smart textile - design of a knitted pressure sensor, TU Delft

Smart textiles are textiles with embedded sensors that can measure and monitor physiological signals like heart rate, breathing and temperature. In our research group we aim to develop a new generation of soft, fully textile-based sensors that are breathable, washable and stretchable by embedding conductive yarns in the textile structure. By changing the knit structure, the knitted patterns can be designed such that they respond to stretch or pressure.

2024-06-03 | Reusables at festivals, Brabant

Are you passionate about sustainability and eager to make a real-world impact? Do you want to use your knowledge of behavior to promote sustainable actions? We are seeking a dedicated student to help us transforming the festival scene in the province of Noord-Brabant.

2024-06-03 | Measuring air pollution in Africa, KNMI

In many cities around the world people are exposed to unhealthy levels of air pollution, with populations in low-income cities the most at risk for respiratory diseases and other long-term health problems. Monitoring air pollution is key to a better local understanding of the problem, needed to take appropriate measures. Unfortunately, air pollution is difficult to measure, and reference equipment is expensive in purchase and maintenance. As a result there are hardly any measurements done in developing countries.

2024-05-22 | Develop an Experiential Prototype to Make People Feel Grounded, TU Delft

The existing food system is grounded in assumptions of the need for excess and elaborate choice to cater for consumers' uncertain preferences and demands for food anywhere, anytime. This enhances consumer satisfaction, but comes at considerable societal costs of inefficient resource use. The large amount of food wasted is an impressive example.

2024-05-17 | Graduation Opportunity Design and evaluation of a natural fiber manufacturing method for automated bio-composite manufacturing, Eve Reverse

Do you like designing and testing prototypes in an iterative process while also working on material and application development for the circular economy? We might have something interesting for you! At Eve reverse we have developed a new method of creating natural fiber reinforced composites which significantly shortens the production chain. The fibers are combined with several innovative polymers to form fully bio based composites that have the potential to be high performance carbon sinks! Your task will be to further develop the process and equipment. This system needs to be energy efficient which you will assess using methods like LCA’s. To showcase the capabilities of the new material we ask you to also design and build a demonstrator product. Do you think you can make it even more interesting for yourself, please let us know!

2024-04-25 | Serious storytelling Designing an VR/AR experience for children to mitigate anxiety and pain of medical procedures (SophiaChildrensHospital)

Many children experience anxiety and pain before or during medical procedures. One such procedure that induces high levels of anxiety in children is venipuncture. Children with chronic conditions have to undergo frequent venipunctures, for instance to collect blood samples. Venipuncture is reported as one of the most distressing parts of medical treatment. Some children even develop needle phobia, which can lead to them avoiding necessary medical procedures. Moreover, higher levels of anxiety lead to a higher levels of perceived pain. Therefore, it is crucial that we develop evidence based tools to effectively manage mitigate anxiety and pain associated with venipuncture.
